Problem

Wood By Post is a family run business that made cut to measure, customised wood products. They wanted to start selling online, the problem they had was that they had no set products, the majority of the orders they received were bespoke and the size, volume and weight would change from order to order.

Solution

For the flexibility Wood By Post needed, we would need an equally flexible CMS that had the ability to scale. Magento was the obvious solution, due to its scalability and being open source, allowing us to tweak and build custom modules for it.

For Wood By Post to be able to sell their bespoke products through a website, we had to build bespoke functionality that would allow customers to define the size of the product, choose which sides needed edging tape and then update item and delivery cost depending on the size and weight of the order.

Outcome

The custom Magento build has allowed the Wood By Post website to effectively sell their bespoke, cut to size wood, to their customers online, while dynamically and accurately quoting for each order.

In the past 6 months they’ve seen an increase sales of 44.96%, reduced the amount of time staff were taking queries as customers were able to directly place orders online.
