E Plan – B2B and B2C professional website

E Plan, a national heating and energy/electrical engineering company, needed a new website that could effectively target both large commercial contracts and domestic customers.

As they offer services to both domestic and commercial customers, we created a seamless multi-site architecture, giving them two integrated websites to precision-tailor their content around the specific type of customer.

Bespoke website design, engaging user experience

Using our experience and deep understanding of both the B2B and B2C markets, we were able to design an effective website for these different target customers.

For the website, we custom designed and developed it integrating a full Content Management System (CMS) for them to efficiently manage content. Eplan supplied the majority of their content for the website, which we then structured into digestible sections and visually refined to maximise engagement.

We used clear headings to split up the content to added a strategic spread of images for a more visual appeal. This helped make the content easily consumable and made for a more engaging experience.

All of this, plus the time we spend meticulously refining every pixel of the website, helps build a quality website that accurately reflects their quality of service.

Generating more enquiries through clear CTA’s

To help create a clear visual separation between the domestic and commercial websites, we utilised their primary and secondary brand colors. We used their primary brand color (vibrant orange) for the domestic side and their secondary brand color (professional green) for the commercial website. This helped keep the design and color scheme consistent while clearly separating the two user experiences.

Key conversion elements included:

• Easy-to-find contact details, positioned prominently in the top right of the page, to facilitate immediate phone calls, alongside clearly displayed opening times.
• High-contrast Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons that stand out, making it easier for visitors to take the next step and make an enquiry.

Increasing enquiries by optimising the message

As Eplan offers its energy and electrical services to both domestic and commercial customers, the selling points and messages that resonate with the audience are different. Having this as a multi-site, allows for the messaging to be focused on the target customer.

For the Domestic website
On the domestic website, the key messages are focused on building professional trust and projecting an image of a friendly, helpful and reliable company. This was shown in the key message focused on friendliness, local to you, with this highlighted services like a ‘professional service’ and ‘personalised approach’ give a more personal feel. This was further reinforced by featuring testimonials from happy customers and images of staff members.

For the Commercial website
The key messages and targeting are focused on scale and proven reliability. This included highlighting the size of their workforce and building trust by showing the logos of their trusted partners. The changes are also reflected in the call to actions that are specifically there to help guide companies to begin the process of partnerships, highlighting their expertise and reliability as an electrical engineering partner.

Streamlined Management: Two Sites, One Backend

Normally, when creating two websites, it can lead to needing to do twice the amount of work to keep them updated. Not in this case; we eliminated this inefficiency by developing the website so that it can be edited from a single, unified login area, using a a simple switch to be able to move between updating the domestics and commercial content. This significantly reduces administrative overhead and ensures content consistency.
