Internap buys Voxel to increase expertise in dedicated hosting

Internap is buying Voxel in a $30 million cash deal.

Internap is buying the organisation in a bid to pad out their dedicated hosting and public cloud, the deal closed at the end of December.

This purchase in particular should give Internap a much better presence in managed hosting, enterprise cloud, dedicated hosting and public cloud services.

Smaller business customers should also benefit from better access.

Internap has also acquired Voxel’s service locations including Amsterdam and Singapore.

In a statement last week, Internap said:

Voxel’s dedicated hosting offering provides customers with a robust online interface and comprehensive API that enables them to provision and activate services in minutes, gaining cloud-like flexibility from dedicated physical servers. Moreover, customers can also seamlessly integrate physical servers and cloud instances in the same environment, overcoming a typical barrier to enterprise cloud adoption for use with legacy or complex custom application stacks.
